Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

V Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities of Social Development Takes Place in Dominican Republic

The V Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities of Social Development takes place on November 17 and 18 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, under the theme: "Strengthening Hemispheric Cooperation towards Resilient Reconstruction and Sustainable Social Development in the Americas".
The Ministerial Meetings on Social Development organized by the OAS are a unique space for the exchange of information, experiences and best practices, and the identification of priorities to strengthen government policies and programs in the area of social development. The V Meeting will allow OAS Member States to define the work agenda with the OAS to address priorities for social development at the regional level; identify and share effective experiences and innovations for the consolidation of resilient, inclusive and sustainable social protection systems in social policy; promote commitments and alliances for hemispheric cooperation; and make visible the central role played by ministries of social development and equivalent institutions for risk mitigation, containment of impacts and recovery from crises.
The event is inaugurated by the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader; the Assistant Secretary General of the OAS, Nestor Mendez; the General Coordinator of the Cabinet for the Coordination of Social Policies of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic, Francisco Antonio Peña Guaba; the Chair of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) and Permanent Representative of Grenada to the OAS, Ambassador Yolande Y. Smith; and the OAS Secretary for Access to Rights and Equity, Maricarmen Plata.
